At the end of 2011 a Stone cutting machine was purchased. During the year an enormous quantity of boulders - some from the river – were carried to the building site and now can be cut to size. This has saved material and transport costs!

Wood is brought from quite far away and is kept to a minimum so limiting the impact to the environment.

March 2011
1000 Copies of Puja Texten printed

A very generous single donation enabled two very rare tibetan puja texts to be computerised and printed.  This project was carried-out by Karma Lekshey Ling Shedra in Kathmandu and each Karma Kagyu-Monastery in Nepal received thirty copies. This not only means that important Puja texts have been made accessible to monasteries but that a contribution has been made to the preservation of Tibetan culture.

7. December 2009

Our founding member Christine Voss has married. Congratulations!

In October Christine Voss and her husband Gerhard Schuler invited Lama Sönam to a seminar in Taormina, Sicily.  At their wedding under Sicilian sunshine, the couple did without presents and instead requested donations to be made that are to be shared between the Sicilian environmental protection organization and Himalaya Karuna e.V.

Now the donation for Himalaya Karuna has reached the sensational sum of more than 4300,00 EUR.

Thank you very much indeed for this wonderful initiative and we wish the couple a wonderful future!
